Developed in cooperation with French research institute LCP2E-CNRS, LOAC determines the concentration of aerosols (numbers of aerosols per cm3) for 20 size classes between 0.3 and 100 μm (with 10 size classes between 0.3 and 5 μm). The instrument can be used to document the physical properties of aerosols in the lower and middle atmosphere during specific events like pollution, transported sands, volcanic ashes, and for long-term monitoring An integrated solution including LOAC and M10 GPS radiosonde is available for launches under meteorological balloons with a total payload less than 1 kg. In this configuration, the instrument provides real time data using the radiosonde telemetry

September 2012, following installations of the two Meteo France Robotsonde at Nimes and Bordeaux, a third Robotsonde ( Hydrogen) has been installed at Meteo- France station of Rochambeau (French Guyana) and operated under tropical climat (Hot and Wet)
Installing an Arctic Robotsonde at Tasiilaq (greenland)

Early October 2012, an arctic version of Robotsonde has been installed in Tasiilaq (Greenland). This model specialy designed for polar weather conditions (Cold temperature combined with strong winds) is now fully operational and integrated to the DMI’s network.
Important Meteo France contract for 9 RobotSonde

An important Meteo France contract for the supply, installation and maintenance of 9 RobotSonde systems has been awarded to METEOMODEM.
A former RobotSonde version with 6 positions has been operated at Nîmes station since 2009 and will be replaced by the new version with 12 positions.
Installation of the first new system is scheduled in October 2011 and following systems will be put in operation within the 3 incoming years.
Global value of the contract is approx. 4 M€

METEOMODEM has been recently awardeed meteo France contract for the supply of radiosondes for its upper air observing network. This 4-year contract represents a total value of more than 5M.

Radiosonde intercomparison China 2010 : METEOMODEM on the podium with grade 4.79/5
Final report on WMO radiosonde intercomparition China 2010 is now available and can be downloded from WMO website: HERE
Results add lessons acquired are realyy usefull for both users and manufacturers. It will contribute, for sure, to the overall performance of upper-air observing systems and lead to further improvments in radiosonde performance in compliance with requirements for climate.
